We loved creating
Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind
SG Mind is the Swindon and Gloucestershire branch of the charity Mind.org. We rebuilt their website and made a beautiful, engaging, useful one.
We are proud that we created an

Mind mental health charity
All the regional Mind.org charities have their own websites which follow their own structures and ways of operating. But at the same time they must all follow the Mind.org brand guidelines.
Swindon & Gloucester Mind, we found, had a relatively young audience as well as Swindon and Gloucester having different services and running different centres.
Which led to us to the rather funky design we came up with, and the structure whereby Swindon and Gloucester are separated in the site so that they act like SEO landing pages.
Animation
The people who represent the personas of the two locations form mastheads to what is effectively two sites – Swindon and Gloucester.
They also have animations surrounding them which are made of the Minds shapes. Created and served as old school gifs, which at the time were forming a bit of a resurgence. A nice mix of friendliness, humanity but a wee bit cool!
Rebuild / Restructure / Redesign
We built on top of the existing WordPress site though realistically there is nothing left of the old one bar the users. The old website was tired, confusing and had lots of lockdown content that was put in ad hoc, but never removed.
We do love taking tired old websites and making them new, interesting and most of all working for the company. This is a good example of a site that by changing can also change the organisation and the way they think. This happened largely due to our strategy sessions with the whole group.
Hopefully these changes lead to SG Mind helping more and more people.

Under the Hood
This is a WordPress site with our usual Divi page builder. It is hosted on our servers and has all of our usual goodies for caching, security and SEO.
Our familiarity with our software allows us to push the structure and the design in unexpected ways.
Why we think
This project is sexy
If you have read this far, and perhaps followed the links to the project you will probably realise we are really proud of the design of this one. The brand guidelines for Mind.org are really tight, so finding interesting and unexpected things to do within them makes us happy. The strategy around personas and users also led to an interesting structure.
SGMind is actually our longest project ever in terms of start of project to launch. This is because their wonderful team are stretched to capacity helping people and like a lot of charities they have no bandwidth to write lots of content, and redefine their services. We applaud these fantastic, wonderful people and the amazing work they do.
